Sydney, Australia - Loverlays is the brainchild of a husband and wife married for 11 years...and still together.

The Loverlays business idea surprisingly was not conceived in the bedroom.

The idea came from an article in a newspaper that described a survey on the sex lives of Japanese couples. One of the findings was that they considered sex to be somewhat boring and quickly becomes 'mendokusai' [too much trouble] – as “you have to wash the sheets afterwards”.

This is when husband looks at wife and an idea forms in both minds at the same time.

After the Loverlays Overlays were created, we then set about seeing what other bedroom products we could develop.

Up to now intimacy was either on a bed, uncomfortable sofa, uncomfortable floor, and we didn’t have a kitchen table. So the bed was usually the winner. So Sex Furniture or more specifically - Intimate Adult Furniture - was required.
